Happy Birthday Will!

Today little Will finally turned 40 weeks old -- and is technically term. He's been around for 3 weeks now (he wasn't deemed premature), but the doctors would say that he was just a wee bit early. Will had his 2 week check-up yesterday and passed with flying colors. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 inches long. So far he's gained over a pound since birth and grown 1 1/2 inches! We definitely can feel the little bugger getting bigger... The Doc says he looks great, and we're now completely out of the woods re: his early low temperature and lethargy.

Christian and I are working on very little sleep, and are still trying to figure out this baby thing. We keep being told that it DOES get easier and this phase will pass so quickly that we better enjoy it. Hard to keep in mind at 3:00 AM when he won't go back to sleep -- but we try.

We've been slow on the pictures, but here are a few more recent ones. Of course, the second one is of the Twins -- Mouse and Roosevelt. I think they've ben cuddling together a lot because we're not paying enough attention to them...

The day has arrived!

I woke up at 4:00am on Friday (the 10th) morning to Sarah saying "um... I think my water just broke." She wasn't due for another 3 weeks, so we were a little doubtful (and very unprepared). We layed there for a while debating whether this was actually happening, but she soon started having some relatively serious contractions very close together. After this point our debating ended and we threw some stuff in a bag, fed the cats, and sped to the hospital. Six hours later our son, William Wittich Thompson, entered the world, weighing in at 6 pounds 7 ounces. Check out some pictures here.

Well, T-minus 3 weeks until D-Day... We've been freaking out that there are only a few weekends left to "get things done", but are feeling pretty good that the big stuff is taken care of. Visited the hospital for a tour with our birthing class group on Halloween -- and every single birthing and postpartum room was full! So we didn't see much except for the reception desk, hallway and tub room. Yes -- they have a nice big bath tub for laboring, etc. First come, first serve so watch out! :-) Here's a picture of me and my friend Jodi at the hospital -- she's due on Nov. 8th so send good vibes...
